Celebration of Life funerals
Often, when people think of a funeral, it is a conventional church-based service, steeped in religious tradition that comes to mind. While we do cater for such ceremonies, we also realise that, for many, this option is not ideal – particularly when the person who has passed away did not actively practice a faith.
Often, when people think of a funeral, it is a conventional church-based service, steeped in religious tradition that comes to mind. While we do cater for such ceremonies, we also realise that, for many, this option is not ideal – particularly when the person who has passed away did not actively practice a faith.
In such cases, Celebration of Life ceremonies have become increasingly popular, shifting the emphasis away from religion and highlighting the achievements, tastes, pastimes, and enthusiasms of the person who has passed away.
Music, photography, readings and poetry often feature prominently in such services, as does the input of friends and relatives of the deceased. And, for those attendees who do wish to acknowledge a religious element to the ceremony, time can be set aside for silent reflection and prayer.
